BIGfest 2009: Three Big Days of Great Texas Music
35 years and going strong—San Marcos' Cheatham Street Warehouse celebrates anniversary with a Texas-sized, three-day music fest.
SAN MARCOS, TX, June 26, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BIGfest, a three-day music festival at the legendary Cheatham Street Warehouse, isn't a music event you want to miss. On June 26-28, more than 100 of Texas' best songwriters and musicians will perform. Walt Wilkins & The Mystiqueros, Brandon Jenkins, Kent Finlay, Jason Eady, Tim Henderson, Big John Mills, Shelley King and John Arthur Martinez are just several featured artists. Proceeds will benefit the Cheatham Street Music Foundation.
This historic music hall celebrates 35 years of Texas Music this month and has served as a springboard for so many of Texas' top stars (George Strait, Charlie Sexton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Todd Snider, Terri Hendrix, Hal Ketchum, Randy Rogers, and numerous others).
The event is open to the public and tickets are available online or at the door. 3-day weekend passes are $25, Friday night tickets are $8, and Saturday and Sunday full-day tickets are $12.
Radio Free Texas will be broadcasting the event live. A silent auction will also be held.
The aim of the Foundation is to preserve this 100 year old building so that Texas Music can continue to be developed and celebrated at the legendary site well into the future. The Cheatham Street Music Foundation is a non-profit 501 (3) (c) organization.
