Small-town woman with global vision to help animals, children, veterans, cancer research and clean global water - through sales of new music CD: One To One
The chorus of Laurie Lee Lewis' new CD, One To One, about says it all: "One to one, connecting to each other, heart to heart- the world's community. Reaching out taking care of another, one to one... together - family."

DEMING, WA, May 09, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Singer-songwriter, Laurie Lee Lewis knows it's a tough time to release a CD, especially to serve charities. "Charities tend move to the bottom of our priority list whenever there is a financial drought, says Lewis, but now - more than ever, they need our help."

Through sales, shows, and downloadable songs of her uplifting CD, Laurie is donating to 5 charities, plus making the CDs available for small, non-profit groups, to sell for their own fundraising needs.

The 16-songs of One To One are varied styles of country, pop, folk, Celtic, Dixieland, blues, and Latin. "I tried to create something to inspire most everyone, every age." Each song addresses different emotions related to healing, life's journey, unity, humor, loss, compassion, freedom, family, and service. Songs like Thirsty speaks of literal thirst and the desire to serve humanity. Forget Me Not is a memorial song to soldiers and lost loved-ones. This song will be available for free-download over Memorial Day weekend and Laurie hopes to release a video by Veteran's Day.

Laurie grew up in a musical family. Her mom was also a singer and friends with Loretta Lynn, when she lived in Blaine, WA. Loretta was a huge influence on Laurie's writing and performing. "I deeply admire how Loretta has always shown such love for her audience and fans." Performing since age six, Laurie has written and released five CDs, toured as an opening act for several country stars and even performed a duet with country legend, Ferlin Husky - at the Tacoma Dome, (WA.) One Light was the first of Laurie's projects to raise money for charities. Peace Begins with Me, another CD, was released in Europe after 9-11, raising money for three charities and charted at #31 in the United Kingdom.

What makes this humanitarian project extra special is the fact that is almost never happened. Last summer/fall, Laurie experienced three concussions in a row. "For four months, in the fog, I felt totally disconnected from my music, so I purposely went into my studio and erased all the songs. About a week later, 'One to One' appeared on my recorder! I call this my 'concussion song' since I only faintly remember writing and recording it. This song awakened me from the dark, allowing me to complete what I started with new clarity of purpose. Here I am with sleeves rolled up!"

"You do not have to be famous to make a difference. I am a home school mama, wife and farmer who believes in world betterment and write songs about it. I have chosen to step out, be a voice for those in need and inspire others that want to make a difference too. When folks support this project - together, we make a difference. I keep a quote with me of Helen Keller's that says, "I am only one, but still I am one and can do something." The One To One CD is my something -and I am just getting started!"
